What is ILLiad?
ILLiad is Boulder Labs Library's web-based interlibrary loan service. Once you create an account, you may log in and use it to do the following:
Order journal article copies, book chapter copies, book loans, and other material from libraries worldwide, as well as from the Boulder Labs Library.
Access material delivered electronically.
Request a renewal of a loaned item.
View the status of your In Process requests and information about your Past Requests.
Who can use ILLiad?
Current or retired employees of Boulder Labs who have a CAC badge.
What if I forget my password?

How long does it take to receive an item?
Libraries usually fill an article copy request within two to three work days. When a library provides a copy of an article or book chapter, the PDF appears in the Electronic Delivery section of your ILLiad account. You will also receive an email notifying you that the item has arrived.
Libraries usually fill a loan request within five to seven days.
If you need an item by a specific date sooner than 30 days, or if you need an item urgently, submit your request, (including a note with your need-by date), and contact a Library staff member by phone or email.
What does the "status" of my request mean?
Listed below are some of the most common statuses you will see.
Awaiting Request Processing - The request has been submitted and is waiting for ILL staff to process it and request it from another library.
Request in Processing - Interlibrary Loan Staff is working on your request.
Request Sent - The request has been sent to another library. We have not yet received the item from the lending library.
Awaiting Unfilled Processing - No library was able to fulfill the request on the first attempt. Staff will resubmit using a new set of lenders
Delivered to Web - These articles can be downloaded as PDFs by clicking on Electronically Received Articles from the View menu.
Request Finished - Once an article request has been delivered to you, or a book request has been returned to the lending library, the request goes to "Request Finished" status.
Checked Out to Customer - This status means that you have checked out a book from Interlibrary Loan.
Cancelled by Customer - The customer has requested that this item be cancelled.
Cancelled by ILL Staff - All cancelled requests end up at this status (even if they were originally cancelled by the customer). See the "Reason for Cancellation" to determine why the request was cancelled.
I requested an article and downloaded the PDF but it is illegible, missing pages, or the wrong item. Can this be fixed?
In order to ensure that you receive your article copy as quickly as possible, our ILLiad settings make it possible for the lending library to send the item directly to you. Boulder Labs Library rarely views the document before you are notified. Please contact us if you have any problems with the PDF.
